A short-form documentary produced in partnership with the Museum of Vancouver (MOV) and SFU SIAT, exploring the future of sustainable fashion. The film highlights innovative work at LaSalle College. As Team Lead in a 3-person crew, I managed the production and assumed responsibility for the primary visual execution — specifically camera operation and lighting design using the Sony FX30.
Multi-Cam & Lens Choice
I implemented a two-camera interview setup. I used a 30mm lens to establish the subject within their environment, allowing the audience context. For vulnerable moments, I cut to a tight 55mm lens to compress the background and force the viewer's focus onto the subject's expression.
Colour Grading in S-Log3
Captured in 10-bit 4:2:2 Sony S-Log3. This allowed me to prioritize natural skin tones and organic textures — essential for a narrative focused on sustainability.
Lighting Strategy
Used a lean two-light setup (SmallRig RC 120B with Softbox as key, GVM 60W with spotlight mount). For Ana, the GVM provided a sharp rim light to separate her from the background. For Ariana, the GVM was repurposed to spot-illuminate the mannequins in the background.
